Madeline G. Serafine, 93, formerly of Exeter passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017, unexpectedly at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

She was a graduate of Exeter High School. During WWII Madeline worked as a riveter in support of the U.S. war effort in a manufacturing plant in Millersville, PA. She married her high school sweetheart Virgil Serafine in 1944 while he was serving in the U.S. Navy.
Madeline was a proud homemaker who loved to bake and cook for her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter.
She was an independent living resident of Myers Manor at Wesley Village since 2005 where she rode her Jazzie, and had a smile or a wave for everyone. One of her lifelines was the staff at Gerrity's Super Market in West Pittston. Madeline truly appreciated the many friendships she made in life.
She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil in 1998 and her son Gary in 2014.
She is survived by daughter, Madeline Joyce Vitelli (Albert) of Valencia, PA; her sister Marcella Fountain, Kingston; grandchildren Mark Vitelli, Susan Vitelli Sullivan, Amy Serafine, Dana Serafine Rogers, Jeffrey Serafine, Lori Beth Serafine Silvers; twelve great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She also had a great relationship with the staff and residents at Wesley Village.

To the Family of Madeline G. Serafine: I hope you find comfort, just as I have, when I loss my Father, Sister, and Grandmother; in the God of all comfort, Jehovah, (2 Corinthians 1;3,4) in his word, the bible, in Psalms 34:18: Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted; He saves those who are crushed in spirit. God's word, also says in Isaiah 25:8: He will swallow up death forever, And the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces...For Jehovah himself has spoken it. (Psalms 83:18; Titus 1:2) These are some powerful Scriptures, and I have faith in God's word, that this is what God's kingdom, under Jesus Christ rulership will accomplish in the near future, for all those who love righteousness. The true God, promises in his word, in Psalms 37:11,29:.The meek will possess the earth, And they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace, 29: The righteous will possess the earth, And they will live forever on it. Psalms 104:5; Psalms 115:16; Ecclesiastes 1:4; Job 33;25; Isaiah 35:5,6; Isaiah 65:21,22; Psalms 37:34. (New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures)
