Richard B. Anselmi, 64, of Exeter, passed away on Friday morning September 23, 2016 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
Richard was born April 26, 1952, the son of the late Ettore and Betty Vanyo Anselmi.
He was a 1970 graduate of Wyoming Area High School, and continued his education in Luzerne County Community College and graduated from Wilkes-University with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in History and secondary education.
Richard had worked for Marvel Kitchens in Wyoming, Suburban Publishers, and Keystone Automotive retiring in 2005. He was an active member of the Exeter Lions Club serving as 2nd Vice President and was the representative for the Upper Valley Eye Bank for which he faithfully collected used eye glasses each month.
He was a member of the Cosmopolitan Club, Exeter and enjoyed going to the Dallas Active Adults Center.
Richard was a deeply religious person frequently attending daily masses and novenas. He was an altar boy for St. Anthony of Padua Church, a lecturer, longtime member of the Holy Name Society and regularly participated in Sunday afternoon adoration at St. Barbara Parish. He was also a third degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #372 Pittston.
He had a good sense of humor and was very generous giving to others without much concern for himself. He will be sorely missed by his brother Ettore, many cousins, family and friends. He is at rest now with the Lord after serving well on this earth.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation on Sunday from 2-4pm and 7-9 pm at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
Funeral services will be on Monday at 9am from the funeral home followed by a mass of Christian burial at St. Barbara Parish in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter.
The Rev. Michael Finn, will be celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Cecilia’s Cemetery, Schooley St., Exeter.
