John Martin, 71, of Harding, passed away on Friday morning March 11, 2016 at the Highland Manor Nursing Home, Exeter.
Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late John and Grace Markert Martin.
John was a graduate of Jenkins High School and was a member of Corpus Christi Parish at Church of the Holy Redeemer, Harding.
Prior to his retirement, he was the owner operator of a trucking company.
"From small cookouts on the patio to planning big family reunions, Jack always enjoyed having his family together. Whether it was driving up north to Canada every summer for 45 years, or driving along the east coast all the way to Disney World, creating memories with his kids and grandchildren was the most important thing to him. He touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him."
He was preceded in death by his sisters Molly Williams and Audrey Avery.
Surviving are his wife of 53 years, the former Mary Frances Bertram, and children, Donald, Harding, Brian and his wife Kathy, Harveys Lake, Scott and his wife Shelby, Exeter, and Tracy and wife, Amanda, Harding.

Numerous nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 6pm until 8pm at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
A Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday at 10AM at Corpus Christi Parish in Church of the Holy Redeemer, Rt. 92, Harding, with the Msgr. John Sempa,pastor, as celebrant.
Interment will be in Mt. View Burial Park, Harding.
