Michael P. Grabowski, 57,  of Exeter,  passed away on Wednesday November 11, 2015 .

Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late John and Anna Thomas Grabowski.

Michael was a 1976 graduate of Wyoming Area School District and was employed by the Wilkes-Barre Chamber of Commerce as the assistant property manager for the past 15 years.

He belonged to the Laborers Union #130, Scranton and was a member of the Mason Union, West Pittston and the Shriners.

He was also an avid golfer and was the co-founder and President of the “Man Club”.

Anyone that has ever met mike would agree that he was the most loving, compassionate, and selfless man. Mike would do anything for a family member or friend in need, even if that meant putting his own needs on hold. Mike had so many friends and so many loved ones, because he loved with all his heart.

Mike's laugh was contagious. He was a fun,and funny man. Mike's hug was warm. He was a personable, friendly man. So, to know Mike is to miss Mike. We will all miss the light he brought into our lives; we will always remember the love he shared with us.

Surviving are his wife of 7 years, the former Jean Stashefsky and children Michelle  and her husband Timothy Figueroa, Mountaintop, Daniel and his fiancée, Jackie, Exeter and a brother John and his partner Paul, Exeter, and a sister Annette and her husband Gary Steinbacher, Boyertown.

Also 2 nieces.

Relatives and friends may call on Monday from 8:30am until 10:30am at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00am at St. Monica’s Parish, 8th St., West Wyoming with the Rev. Leo McKernan, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Slovak Cemetery, Schooley St., Exeter.

Jean,

I have experienced a good bit of lose in my short lifetime. I am not religious but have found my own way of grieving that provides a sliver of comfort in this weird yet wonderful life we live in. A physicist would remind you of the first law of thermodynamics; that no energy gets created in the universe, and none is destroyed. That all of Mike's energy, every vibration, every Btu of heat, every wave of every particle that was him remains with you in this world. All the photons that ever bounced off of his face, all the particles who paths were interrupted by his smile, hundreds of trillions of particles, have raced off like children, their ways forever changed by his presence. All those photons that bounced from him were gathered in the particle detectors of your eyes, and those photons created within your electromagnetically charged neurons, that energy, will go on forever. The warmth that flowed through him in his life is still here, still part of all that we are. Take comfort in knowing his energy is still around and that you are not alone. Your friends are here for you, we miss you.

I was sadden to learn about Mike's death. I was a classmate of his. His obituary captured the Mike I fondly remember. Always happy with a quick wit and smile. We've lost way to many classmates far to early. My condolences to his family.

Jean and family of Mike:

One thing I've learned in my 57 years on earth is that our time here is short. Too short. We never get to spend the amount of time we really want with the ones we love. I didn't know Mike that well, but enough to say "hi" and "how's it going?" and I know the ones who knew him well said nothing but kind things about his generosity and character. Mike was a well-loved by many as attested in his obituary and his life touched a lot of people in a positive way...and this will live on in those people he touched. My heart-felt condolences go out to all of his family and friends, especially to Jean, his wife, and my co-worker. May God comfort you and may you smile and get comfort from the memories you made in your time together.

I just want to offer my condolences to Mike's family. I happened to be on the Gubbiotti web site and say a familiar face. I was a sophomore on the football team when Mike was a Senior. Again, I am sorry. :(
