Frank A. Mirabelle, 92, of Exeter passed away on Wednesday June 17, 2015 at the Celtic Hospice In-patient unit of Geisinger South Hospital, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Yatesville, he was the son of the late Paul and Emanuella Serratore Mirabelle.
Frank was a member of Corpus Christi Parish at Immaculate Conception Church, West Pittston and was a graduate of Wyoming High School.
He was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran, having served his country during World War II.
He worked in federal service for over 30 years, beginning as a purchasing agent at the Department of Veteran Affairs and then at Tobyhanna Army Depot where he was the Chief of the Procurement and contracting division.
After his retirement, he was a volunteer tax preparer with RSVP for over 20 years.
During his career as a coach, he coached the Avenue Lanes team at the Exeter Little League baseball field, winning several championships.
He also bowled in Pittston Twp., VFW league and was an avid golfer.
Frank enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren participating in their sports.
He was preceded in death by his brothers: Joseph, Dominick, Fred and Peter and sisters, Sue Colarusso.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, the former Josephine Todaro and children Francis and his wife Rosemary, BelAir, Md., Nancy and her husband James Montville, Exeter, Patrick and his wife Paula, West Wyoming, and Jane and her husband John Colwell, West Pittston.
Grandchildren: Jude and John Colwell, Scott and Amy Mirabelle and Jamie and his wife Candace Montville.
One great grandson, Blake Mirabelle, numerous nieces and nephews.
Also a sister Jennie Beatrice, Quincy, Ma.
Funeral services will be on Saturday at 10:45am from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter. A mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00am in Corpus Christi Parish at Immaculate Conception Church, Luzerne Ave. West Pittston with the Msgr. John Sempa, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Rocco’s Cemetery, Pittston.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.
