Aurelia Menichini, 76, of West Pittston, passed away on Friday morning May 29, 2015 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Plains Twp.
Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Vittorio and Linda Chiavacci Menichini.
She was a member and a Eucharistic Minister at Corpus Christi Parish, West Pittston.
Aurelia was a 1956 graduate of West Pittston High School and went on to Nursing school at Mercedian where she graduated in 1957.
She had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Moses Taylor Hospital for 40 years and most recently for Redicare in Taylor. Her coworkers would tell you that she was the most devoted nurse.
She was preceded in death by her sister Diana Marranca.
Surviving are her nieces and nephews; Maria and her husband Lindo Sabatini, Exeter; Carmen and his wife Sharon Marranca, Exeter and Victor Marranca, Brooklyn,NY.
Known as Aunt Tete to her family, her greatest passion was spending time with and caring for her great nieces and nephews: Aubriana and Joseph Marranca, and Sofia, Savino and Santo Sabatini. She did absolutely anything and everything for them and was known to come running when they called. No questions asked - it was her pleasure. They love her beyond words and will miss her tremendously.
Funeral services will be on Monday at 9:00am from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 9:30am in Corpus Christi Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston.

To the Menichini Family: When I graduated from Temple University as an RN, in 1958, I went to work at the Moses Taylor Hospital. There I met "Toddy" Menichini, and we were both assigned to the 3-11pm shift on the men's ward. Our personalities "clicked", and we had a blast working together. Toddy, as we called her, (I think, if I remember correctly), was a young woman of high professional standards, a superb nurse, a woman of integrity, and a great sense of humor. We had so much fun together, it wasn't like work. I clearly remember her devotion to her family. I left there to go on to study to become a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. I was saddened to read of her passing, I am now 78 years of age, but have wonderful memories of "Toddy". I shall see her again in heaven. My condolences to each of you who loved her. I served as a Eucharistic Minister with Aurelia. She was so kind and always did good for others. I will miss her very much. I used to talk to her at the grocery store where she would tell me she had to baby sit. I will her very much. Serving our LORD will not be the same with out my friend. Aurelia is now one of the LORDS angels. You are all in our prayers.
