Sophia "Sandy" Clapps, 93, formerly of Exeter, passed away on Sunday May 10, 2015 at the River Run Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Kingston.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna Zabretsky Verostek.
Sophia was a former member of St. John the Baptist Church, Exeter and was a graduate of Jenkins High School.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Clapps, Sr., son Jerry Clapps, Jr. and sisters Mary Sholtis and Helen Vasil.
Surviving are her children, Judy and her husband Michael Boyes, Feasterville, Pa. and Bob and his wife Linda, St. Petersburg, Florida, along with several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday May 29, 2015 at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter from 7 until 9pm.
A Memorial mass will be on Saturday May 30, 2015 at St. Barbara Parish in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 28 Memorial St., Exeter.
Interment will be in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Schooley St., Exeter.
