Donald E. Knauer, 66, a resident of Pittston and formerly of Wilkes-Barre and Wyoming, passed away on Monday February 2, 2015 at the Celtic Hospice Inpatient Unit at Geisinger South, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Benjamin Knauer and Genevieve Klein Knauer.
Prior to his illness, he had worked as a computer analyst for Eberhard Faber and Common Wealth Telephone. Donald was locally known as the lead singer for the bands Four Way Street and Golden Fire in the 70’s and 80’s.
Surviving are his son Jason and his companion Sarah Witkowski, Wilkes-Barre and his brother and sister-in-law Gary and Laurie Knauer, Harvey’s Lake, and their two children, Gary Jr. and Leigh Anne.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday February 6th at 10:00 AM followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave.Exeter. Inurnment will be in St. Nicholas Cemetery, Shavertown.
Memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA of Luzerne County.

I worked with Don at Eberhard Faber in Mountain Top, Pa. I followed his music career after that for several years. Don was a good person and will be missed by those who knew him. My condolences to his family.
