Robert W. Lynch, 71, Formerly of Pittston, and a resident of the Smith Nursing Home, Mountaintop, passed away on Wednesday December 10, 2014 at the Dept. Of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Plains Twp.

Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Vincent and Gertrude Kupleski Lynch.

Robert was a graduate of St. John's High School and a member of St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston, before his illness.

Following high school he joined the U.S. Army serving in the Panama Canal at Ft. Clayton as a specialist 4.
He was a member of the 4th Battalion, 20th Infantry of the U.S. Army Forces Southern Command.

Bobby was previously employed by Owens - Illinois and K Mart,Pittston.

He was preceded in death in addition to his parents, his brother Charles and a sister Mary Mecca.

Surviving are his son Richard and a brother Greg and his wife Cindy Lynch, Exeter nieces and nephews and, Sephanie and Hillary Lynch, Carla Mecca Willis,Christopher Mecca and Gregory Lynch and great niece Avery Willis and great nephews, Vito Mecca, and Bradyn Lynch.

Military funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9;00am from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter accorded by the AmVets Honor Guard.
A mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30 am at St. Barbara Parish in St. Cecilia's Church, Exeter. with the Rev. Michael Finn, Pastor, as celebrant.

Interment will be in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, Pittston.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 5 until 8 at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to the Care and Concern Free Health Clinic, 37 William St. Pittston.
