WEST PITTSTON — Jeremy YonKondy, 29, of West Pittston, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia.
Born July 12, 1985, he was a son of Jon and Donna Poplawski YonKondy.
Jeremy was a 2003 graduate of Wyoming Area School District and attended East Stroudsburg University and the French Culinary Institute in New York City. He was employed as a head chef/co-owner of Center City Cafe, Wilkes-Barre.
Preceding him in death were his paternal grandparents, Jon and Anne Puchalsky YonKondy; and maternal grandfather, Vince Poplawski.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Jonathan, Los Angeles; a sister, Jillian, Clarks Summit; and his maternal grandmother, Regina Dobilas Poplawski, Dupont.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church, Pittston, with Monsignor John Bendik, pastor, as celebrant. Relatives and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Pittston.
