Clinton W. Tilley, 86, of Exeter passed away at the Wilkes-Barre General hospital on Wednesday,April 29, 2014.
Born in Plains, son of the late Edgar and Elizabeth Wills Tilley, he attended Plains High School and was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served his country during World War II.
Prior to his retirement, he had worked at Lippi Enterprises and previously at Leslie Fay as a foreman.
He belonged to the International League of Garment Workers Union.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dennis Tilley, brothers; Edgar, Fred, and Thomas Tilley, and a sister; Mae Lehet.
Clinton is survived by his wife of 66 years, the former Mary Ann Tauber; son, Gary Tilley and his wife Mary, Exeter, grandchildren; Michelle and her husband Gary Michak, Christa and her husband Christopher Sharp, Sarah, Erin, and Gary Tilley, and four great grandchildren.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 5pm until 8 pm. at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
Funeral services will be on Saturday at 10am at the funeral home with the Pastor Samuel Garnett, of the First Baptist Church, Wyoming.
Clinton's family would like to thank Dr. Andrew Stuka and his nurses Pat, Fran and nursing staff at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital ICU for the excellent care they gave to Mr. Tilley in his time of need.
