Joseph Anthony Pellegrini, "Junior", 89, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday December 30, 2018 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

He was born December 21, 1929 in Plains to the late Joseph and Josephine Parlanti  Pellegrini.

He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1948 to 1952 participating in the Berlin Air Lift and the Korean War.

He graduated from Plains Memorial High School in 1947 and went on to received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics in 1958 from the University of Scranton.

After graduation he worked for SperryRand on Long Island then moved to Exeter, Pa. and forked for Bendix/Allied Signal/Honeywell for 35 years in Montrose, as an electrical engineer.

On September 3, 1960, he married the former Joan Iannuzzo of Old Boston.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Louis "Hook" Pellegrini and Roland Pellegrini and sisters Mary Barbacci and Vera Ostroski.

Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Joan Pellegrini, Pittston, daughter, Judy Jordan and her husband Gary, Cranberry Twp., Pa. , his son Joseph Pellegrini and his wife Christen, Scranton, and three grandchildren Gary Jordan, Dominick Pellegrini and Cory Jordan.

Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday from 4-7pm at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:00am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30am at St.. Barbara Parish in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 224 Memorial St., Exeter. The Rev. Michael Finn, pastor, will be celebrant.

Entombment will be in Mount Olivet Mausoleum, Wyoming.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association in Joseph's memory.
