Elizabeth “Bette” Snyder, 96, of Exeter was chosen by our Lord, to join him in heaven on Saturday August 26, 2017 at Wesley Village Campus of United Methodist Homes, Pittston.

Born on April 22, 1921, in Plymouth, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Beluski Baigis.

She graduated from Plymouth High School worked as an experienced button hole operator in the garment industry.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reuben Snyder, son Robert Snyder, son in law Roy Gilley and sisters, Marie Gustitus and Lenore Parini and stepbrothers Joseph, Edmund, and William Ropers.

Bette is survived by her loving daughters Nancy Salus and her husband Norman, Swoyersville, and Beverly Gilley, Exeter and adoring son James and his wife Kathy Snyder, Ambler, Pa.

She was blessed with 19 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

Bette loved having a dog, going on vacations with family, enjoyed the slots at the casinos, going to garage sales, reading, playing cards, and scrabble and enjoyed family gatherings.  She was a great cook and baker, especially known for her delicious apple cake.

Bette’s funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:30 am from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home. 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10am at Corpus Christi Parish at Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston.

The Monsignor John Sempa, pastor will be celebrant.

Interment will be in Mount Olivet Roman Catholic Cemetery, Carverton.

Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michalene Torbik and the staff of Wesley Village for their compassionate care of our dear mother during her stay there.
