Richard L. Trotta, 74, of Exeter, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at the Regional Hospital, Scranton with his family by his side.

Born in Baltimore, Md., he was the son of the late Richard L. and Clara Dalessandro Trotta.

Richard was a member of St. Barbara Parish at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter and its Holy Name Society and was a graduate of Pittston High School. He then attended Lackawanna Jr. College.

He was a U. S. Army veteran having served his country in the Korean War.

He had been employed at the Tobyhanna Army Depot and at Pocono Downs.

Richard was a member of the Exeter Lions Club, and the Exeter Lions Little League and Panthers. He also belonged to the Veteran of Foreign Wars, Exeter.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Trotta.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, the former Lucille Petrucci, and children, Renee Trotta, Orefield, Pa. and Richard , Jr. and his wife Dr. Karin Trotta, Orefield, Pa. and Robin and her husband Jake Altobelli, Exeter.

Sisters, Shirley Trotta, Pittston, Phyllis Kane, N.J. , and Dolores Korpita, Kenvil, NJ

3 grandchildren: Richard Trotta, III, Nicholaus Trotta, and Drew Weiss along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 5-8pm at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.

Military funeral  honors will be accorded by the AmVets Honor Guard on Saturday at 9:30am from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00am at St. Barbara Parish at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 212 Memorial St., Exeter.
The Rev. Daniel Schwebbs, will be celebrant.

Interment will be in St. Cecilia's Cemetery, Exeter.
