John M. Blockus, 77, of Swoyersville, passed away on Sunday October 16,2016 at the Geisinger South Celtic Hospice Inpatient Unit, Wilkes-Barre.
Born in Nanticoke, he was the son of the late Charles and Mary Bunor Blockus.
John was a graduate of Nanticoke Area High School and was a U.S.Navy veteran.
He had worked as a mechanic for Proctor and Gamble, prior to his retirement.
John was a past president and member of the Swoyersville Lions Club, Harvey's Lake Rod and Gun Club and owner of Hilltop Video Productions.
He was preceded in death by his sister Albina Sekulski.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Pearl A. Yezefski, and sons John, and his wife Brenda, Tunkhannock; Kevin C. and his wife Michelle, Swoyersville; grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Danielle, Bethany and Noah and a niece Kathy Blockus.
Also a brother Kaz and his wife, Teresa Blockus, Bound Brook, N.J.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 5pm until 8 pm at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 WYoming Ave., Exeter.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 9:00am from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30am St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Swoyersville.
Interment will be private.
