Megan Elizabeth Walsh, 36, of Mountain Top, and formerly of Laflin, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital, Plains Twp.

Born in Kingston on June 12, 1979, she was the daughter of Jane Walsh Waitkus, Frank Waitkus and the late Richard Walsh.

Megan was a graduate of Crestwood High School and Penn State University, and a member of the St. Jude Parish, Mountain Top.

She is survived by her children, Genavive, Dylan, and Zariah.  She is also survived by her brother Daniel Kieran Walsh, her sister, Maura Walsh Conklin and her husband Jamie Conklin, her uncle, George Michaels, an aunt Carol Michaels and numerous cousins. She is also survived by the father of her children, Zigmund Januszewski.


She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ann and George Michaels , Plains, and Mary and Daniel Walsh, Exeter, and her uncles Daniel M. Walsh and Aloysius Kress.

The family is grateful to the staff at Temple Fox Chase Bone Marrow Unit, the Be the Match Organization  and Megan’s stem cell donor from Germany.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to her children’s education fund in care of Jane Walsh Waitkus, 987 Prospect Road, Mountain Top, Pa. 18707.

Relatives and friends may call on Sunday from 5-8pm at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.

A Mass of Christian burial will be on Monday at 9:30am at St. Jude Parish, 420  South Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top, with the Rev. Joseph J. Evanko, pastor, as celebrant.

Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.

Those attending the funeral mass are asked to go directly to the church on Monday.
There will be no procession from the funeral home.
