Edward S. Benish, 79, of Exeter, passed away on Tuesday March 3, 2015 at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Pittston, he was the son of the late Michael and Irene Roman Benish.

Edward was a 1953 graduate of Exeter High School and then joined the Pa. National Guard.
He was a member of St. Barbara Parish, St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter.

He worked as a welder for Pagnotti Enterprises, West Pittston for 38 years, and then was self employed servicing and selling televisions and radios.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Robert and Joseph Benish.

Surviving are his wife of 44 years, the former Jean Bruzzise, and son Paul and his wife Lori Ann and their son Jacob Benish. Sterling, Va.. ; brothers Michael and his wife Lenore Benish, Harding and Albert and his wife Rosalie, S.C. nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:00am from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.  A Mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30am at St. Barbara Parish in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Exeter with the Rev. Joseph Sibilano, O.S.J., as celebrant.

Interment will be in Denison Cemetery, Swoyersville.

Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 5 until 8pm at the funeral home.
