Erin A. Hajala, 53, of Exeter, passed away at her home on August 6, 2018.
Born in Pittston, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Kelly.
Erin was a graduate of Seton Catholic High School and went on to become a Licensed Practical Nurse.
She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Christine on April 26, 2018.
Surviving are her husband of 34 years, Joseph and brothers Joseph and his wife Deborah Kelly, Pittston, Robert and his wife Melissa Kelly, Pittston Twp. and a sister Maridee Kelly Garden City, S.C.
Erin was happiest at home, tending to her garden or her cats Midnight and Mischief. She cherished her role as “Auntie” to her nieces Addyson and Ireland and nephew Brendan Robert and loved them dearly.
Her family meant everything to her, holidays and summer cookouts were here favorites. She loved to binge watch T.V. shows until the wee hours with her daughter Chrissy.
Erin had a warm heart, a strong will and a generous soul, her capacity for kindness was as great as her tolerance for heartbreak was not.
We will truly miss our Erin, but take comfort in the thought that she is reunited in heaven with her precious Chrissy, and remember her favorite Irish blessing: May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Friday at 9:30am at St. Joseph Marello Parish, 237 William St., Pittston. The Rev. Joseph Elston, Pastor, will be celebrant.
Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Carverton.
Funeral arrangements are in the care of Gubbiotti Funeral Home LLC, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
