On May 29th, 2017 heaven gained a beautiful angel. Sarah Elizabeth Gardner (Oliveri) will no longer struggle or fight to overcome her disease. Sarah’s life was taken by drug manufacturers, traffickers and dealers. Her passing is a lesson to both young and old. It only takes one mistake and you can become the victim of addiction promoted by evildoers for monetary gain.
We write this obituary in hopes that it may prove insight to those that need to change their behavior one day at a time. To ALL, this is a simple reminder that there are people who love you, with everything that they have and no matter what you do – do not be too afraid or ashamed or scared to do anything to ask for help. To all parents, pay attention to your children and the world that revolves around them even when the surface is calm, the water may be turbulent just beneath the surface. Sarah’s struggles have ended and is finally at peace. She will be missed and will always have our love and our prayers. GOD BLESS.
Sarah is survived by her mother, Mary Ann Oliveri-Kapitula, her step-father; David Kapitula, her maternal Grandmother; Mary E. Oliveri, her biological father; Patrick J Gardner. She was proceeded in death by her maternal Grandfather; Armando J Oliveri, and several Aunts and Uncles.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 9:30am from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 10:00am at Corpus Christi Parish in Immaculate Conception Church, 605 Luzerne Ave., West Pittston with the Rev. John J. Sempa, pastor, as celebrant.
Interment will be in West Pittston Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call on Friday from 5-8pm at the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter.
In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to: Avenue’s 12, 204 South Street, Daytona Beach Fl 32114 and Be A Part of the Conversation, PO Box 8 Horsham, PA 19044

When I first moved to Pennsylvania, I didn't have very many friends. You were so kind to me and became one of my beloved childhood friends. Although when we got to high school we drifted apart and did our own thing, I still thought you were a beautiful soul. Rest easy girl. May your soul shine upon others the kindness you shown me all those years ago.

RIP Sarah E. I only met you a couple of times but I will always remember your smile and how my nephew, Nic, smiled when he was with you. We were blessed to have you join our family on Mother's Day. I was looking forward to adding you to the list that call me Aunt Shellie and to being a Great Aunt Shellie to Baby K. 💔 May you both RIP 💔

Maryanne,
We are so sorry to hear of the passing of Sarah. She was a big part of Noah's childhood and he will remember her fondly forever. What a sweet girl- she was very kind and loving to him as a child and he and I will never forget her. I have many pics of the two of them playing together and I am thankful for the memories of how she greeted us when we moved to Harding. I still have an angel statue she gave me when she was around 10. I pray she is at peace. Love and condolences. We will pray for you and your family.

My heart is shattered into a million pieces. I was so looking foward to spoiling you, Nic and my grandbaby for the rest of my life. You were such a bright light and made my Nic smile even brighter. You laughed every time I called the Baby 아 가. I love you Sarah Elizabeth. May you both RIP and shine brightly in the heavens.

While we did not know Sarah personally, she was a beautiful girl!! Gone way too soon of such a horrible disease!! We are dealing with this issue personally and it s not an easy thing to deal with!! Our sympathy and prayers go out to her parents..that is one thing this disease does NOT discriminate and this is just not supposed to happen, you should not have to bury your child!!! So very sorry for your loss, to all her friends and family!!!

I am so sorry for the loss of your daughter Sarah. Even though I don't know you personally, I feel the pain that you are feeling, since I lost my only child, a son, to an overdose last year, 3/9/16. He was only 26 and had so much to live for. My faith has gotten me through this. Just know that my prayers are with you.

I am so very sorry, first about Sarah suffering from addiction, and for the loss of your beautiful Daughter. I can totally relate as I lost my Daughter Misty on July 27, 2015. Please contact me if you'd like a copy of the paperback I wrote about her addictions and tragic death. I think it may help you face the days ahead, and you will be able to relate as our stories parallel. May the Lord bless your entire family. My heart hurts for you all. May He give you strength and comfort for today and the days ahead. With empathy and sympathy, Cheryl

Saying Sarah was a beautiful soul is an understatement. She brought such joy and camaraderie to all of those around her. I had the pleasure of watching the beginning of her recovery journey and I wish it had lasted longer. The world got a little bit darker the day it lost this magnificent soul. Sarah will be so missed.

You probably don't remember us but we remember you and your beautiful daughter. We both attended the family workshop at Lakeview in North FL last year. We had two things in common--a Pennsylvania connection and a child that we love who was battling an addiction. I am so deeply sorry for your loss and can only imagine the pain you are going through right now. How I wish you didn't have to go through this! In just those few days at the workshop it was easy to see that you and Sarah had a special connection to each other. Please know that you did everything you could for her--you were her anchor. I pray that our Lord will help you process all you are feeling now and in the days ahead. We don't know you but we love you and we grieve for you. --Frank, Deb, Colin, and Cait B.
