Joseph S. Chihorek,73, of Dallas, passed away on Saturday December 28, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Ashley, he was the son of the late Stanley and Caroline Piczak Chihorek.
He was a 1957 graduate of Ashley High School and attended Orange County College , N.Y. He had also completed computer study programming at the Wilkes-Barre Data Center.
He was a U.S. Veteran, having served in the Air Force. He was stationed at Ft. Stewart Air Base in New York for 4 years. He belonged to the American Legion, Dallas Post #672 and the Ashley Sportsman Club.
Mr. Chihorek had worked as a director of logistics at Tobyhanna Army Depot where he was chief assistant manager.
He was preceded in death by a baby brother Stanley, Jr.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, the former Joan Revnack and a daughter Monique Chihorek, Old Bridge, N.J. and a son Richard and his wife DeAnn Chihorek, Dallas.
4 grandchildren and 1 great grandson.
Also a brother John and his wife Chris Chihorek, Mission Viejo, Ca. and a sister Carol Marie Brown, Ambler, Pa.
Funeral services will be on Friday January 3,2014 at 9am from the Gubbiotti Funeral Home, 1030 Wyoming Ave., Exeter. A mass of Christian burial will be at 9:30am at St. Francis Cabrini Roman Catholic Church, Carverton, with the Rev. Vincent Dang, as celebrant.
Interment will be in Memorial Shrine Burial Park, West Wyoming.
Relatives and friends may call on Thursday from 5pm until 8 pm at the funeral home.

Rich, Deann and family-
I cannot even begin to tell you how sad I am for you all. I know Pop was such a big part of your lives. He is at peace now and will always be smiling down on all of you with that little smerk of his. Please know I am here if you need anything!!

So sorry for the loss of Cousin Joe. All our best to Joan & family and to Jackie and Carol Marie. We were out of town for 2 weeks and just heard. Sorry we missed services. Sincerely, Di and Len Medura
