Bill was a graduate of Baltimore's Poly Technical Institute and he attended the McCoy School of Engineering in Baltimore. He was an Engineer for Baltimore City Parks and Recreation. He started working for the city at age 18 and retired after many years of service , but worked for Parks and Recreation until age 80 on a contractual basis during the summers. Bill built their home in 1952 and they remained in their beloved "Red House" near Carvel Beach, Maryland their whole lives.
Bill's interests included building and racing hydroplane boats. He won many awards and set speed records in his catagory.
