He went on to work in the shipbuilding and repair industry, retiring in 1994 as a shipyard superintendent. He was a member of the Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus, Monsignor Kelly Council, 4th degree, and St. Jane Frances Church, where he was a lector. He served the community during his retirement, delivering Meals On Wheels, and volunteering at the Lion’s Club. He also loved to travel, making several cross country trips.
Along with his parents, Ken is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years: Lois Edna Fleck; his son Lawrence John, and four brothers.
He is survived by his partner Geraldine Escol, 14 children and their spouses, 34 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 7 siblings, and many nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
Family requests friends visit the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Further visitation on Friday morning from 9 until 10:30 will take place, at which time the procession will leave to go to St. Jane Frances Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM. His burial will follow in New York on a later date. Dear Brother... Rest in peace you gentle soul. I was just a kid when you were in the Army. You used to send me letters with lollipops in them! How sweet. Love, your baby sister. Judy

Dad, You taught me many things; patience, faith, strength, and keeping calm in the face of adversity. Your example is what has made me into the loving husband and father that I am today. I will keep you in my heart always. Thanks you for everything! Godspeed and tell everyone I think of them often.

I am so very to learn of your father's passing. I recall growing up in St. Jane's parish and hearing him do the readings at mass. He always was at the function for the Knights also. I know his passing will be difficult but I hope you take comfort in knowing he is home with our lord and your mom.
My deepest sympathy,
Cathy (Fischer) Vincent

Heaven has gained a truly fine man. Mr. Fleck always made you feel as if you were one of his own. Whether he knew you a short time or a life time, you were an honorary "Fleck" because of his generous spirit. I have never ceased to smile when I see his smiling eyes (his whole face smiled when he smiled) He raised a beautiful family and was loved and respected by anyone who was lucky enough to know him. Rest in peace, Mr. Fleck. I loved you as if you were MY own. And you were. With deepest sympathy and love, Jenny Negro (#16)
