Louis Joseph Born, age 89, a resident of Pasadena for 51 years, and previously of Baltimore, passed away on May 17, 2018.
He was born on December 23, 1928, in Baltimore, to the late Margaret and Louis Born. After graduating from Calvert Hall High School, he served in the US Army with the Military Police, 502nd MP Company, during the occupation of Germany after WWII. Upon his return from the military he became self employed as a tavern owner; the “Knotty Pine Inn” in Highlandtown. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, and St. Jane Frances Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. During his free time he enjoyed science and electronics, stamp collecting, amusement parks, home improvement, but especially spending time with his family.
Along with his parents, Louis is preceded in death by his sister Charlotte.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years: Mary (nee McFaul) Born; his four devoted sons: Louis and wife Patti, David and wife Tracey, Joseph and wife Lola, and Charles and wife Jennifer; his brother Charles; his sister Carolyn; and his grandchildren: Louis, Nicholas, Alex, Kristie, David, Zachary, Nathan, Alexis, Atticus, and Loxley.
Family requests friends visit the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Jane Frances Church on Monday at 11 AM, with Monsignor Carl Cummings officiating. His burial will follow, with military honors, in Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery. Those who wish may contribute to St. Jane Frances School at 8513 St. Jane Dr. Pasadena, MD 21122.
