Anna Mary Dickerson, age 94, a resident of Annapolis for 47 years, passed on April 28, 2018 at Anne Arundel Medical Center.
She was born on July 15, 1923, in Tioga, West Virginia, to the late Anne and John Mearns. She was a graduate of Glenville State University before moving on the University of West Virginia where she obtained her Master’s Degree. She worked for many years as an elementary school teacher for the Anne Arundel County School System until her retirement. Always an avid reader, she also enjoyed gardening, boating, and camping.
Along with her parents, Anna Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband Burley Lee Dickerson; and her sister Dorthy Greene.
She is survived by her stepson Jesse Dickerson, of Snow Hill; her sister Rebecca Ruth Dunker, of Glen Burnie; her two nieces: Elizabeth Coby, of Stewartstown, Pennsylvania, and Belinda Cole, of Tioga, West Virginia; her two nephews: John Dunker, of Pasadena, and Michael Greene, of Wierton, West Virginia; and four grandchildren.
Family requests friends visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Saturday from 10 AM until 12 Noon, at which time her funeral service will begin, with Rev.
