Thomas Francis Keane, a resident of Pasadena for 70 years, passed away on October 3, 2017. He was 98 years old.

He was born on April 7, 1919, in Baltimore, to the late Annie (O’Neill) and Thomas Keane. After graduating from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, class of 1937, he went to work at Martin’s Airport building the B26 Aircraft. During WWII, he entered the US Army, serving as a sergeant with the 77th Infantry until May of 1946. He continued his education at the University of Baltimore, earning his Bachelors Degree in Transportation, then worked for the Maryland Department of Transportation as a planning engineer for about 30 years. During his free time he enjoyed studying geneology and the history of the US and Ireland; and competing in sailboat races.

Along with his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his brother John Keane, and his sister Mary (Keane) Kimmitt.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years: Pauline M. (Lucas) Keane; his two loving daughters: Pauline M. O’Connor and Barbara M. Keane, both of Pasadena; his two devoted sons: Thomas F. Keane, Jr. and his wife Patricia, of Severna Park, and Kevin G. Keane and his wife Lillian, of Pasadena; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Family requests friends visit the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Jane Frances Church on Wednesday at 11 AM, with his burial to follow, with military honors, in Druid Ridge Cemetery.
