Mary Jean Szuleski, a resident of Riviera Beach for 58 years, and previously of Southwest Baltimore, passed away on September 9, 2017 after a lengthy illness.
She was born on August 24, 1928, in Baltimore, to the late Mary Carroll and John J. Stapleton. She worked as a secretary for many years at Southern High School, and was a long time member of St. Jane Frances Church and the Ladies Sodality. She enjoyed music, broadway shows, bowling, movies, and shopping.
Along with her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Szuleski; and five sisters: Margaret and Angela Stapleton, Mary Schwemmer, Camilla Wagner, and Bernadette Stortz.
She is survived by her long time companion: Leonard F. Freburger; her three nephews: Charles Wagner and his wife Bonnie, John Schwemmer, and John Uzarowski and his wife Sharon; her niece Jeanne Guss and her husband Barry; and five great nieces and nephews: Lisa Beaulieu and her husband Jamie, Angela Guss, Michael Guss and his fiancée Jessica Krug, Todd Uzarowski and Heather Uzarowski.
Family invites friends to visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Wednesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM, at which time the procession will leave the funeral home to go to St. Jane Frances Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM.
