Swift, Margaret Eleanor

On February 17, 2017 Margaret E. "Boots" Swift passed away at age 83. Born on March 22, 1933, Margaret was daughter of the late John and Mamie Sipes, and was raised in the Brooklyn area of Baltimore. She married her husband, the late Talbert W. Swift Jr. in 1953, and later worked for 15 years as a Senior Clerk for the Maryland State Motor Fuel Tax Department. Boots, as she was lovingly called was very fond of the art of Ceramics. This hobby began in her basement and expanded into her own Ceramic shop in Pasadena during the 1980s. Ice Cream and James Patterson novels were a few of her favorite things, along with travel and the Beach. Margaret and her husband retired to Florida for a time because of their love of the ocean.

Margaret was the beloved wife of 60 years to the late Talbert W. Swift Jr.; devoted mother of Talbert W. and his wife Joann of Pasadena, Michael and his wife Ann of Callahan, Florida, Christine Mullen and her husband Mike and Mary Hallikas and her husband Don, all of Pasadena. She was blessed with grandchildren Billy, Sean, Mathew, Jordan, Donald, Nicole, Jimmy and Michelle, also great grandchildren Maggie, Connor, Patrick, Shannon and Teagen.

Friends are invited to visit the GREGORY J. GONCE FUNERAL HOME, 169 Riviera Drive, on Tuesday 3 to 5 and 7 to 9pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Athanasius Church Chapel on Wednesday at 12 noon with entombment to follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park. Those who wish may contribute to St. Athanasius Church.
