Klara I. Kaifos, "Omie" age 87, a resident of Severna Park for three years and previously of Pasadena, passed on December 20, 2016 after suffering from complications of Alzheimer's Disease.

She was born on September 19, 1929, in Mannheim, Germany, to the late Helene and Karl Muller. After graduating from high school in Germany, she moved to America where she worked as a mixologist for 50 years. She was a member of St. Jane Frances Church, and LA Fitness, and enjoyed gardening, ceramics, camping, dancing, knitting, and of course, spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Omie is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years: Gus Kaifos; and her son Theodore B. Faatz.

She is survived by her two loving daughters: Rosemaria Richardson and her husband Ron, of Pasadena, and Helena Gue and her husband George, of North Carolina; seven grandchildren, including Bryan Gruzenski and his wife Amber, of Florida, and Justin Richardson and his wife Becky, of Baltimore; and four great grandchildren.

Family requests friends visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, 21122 on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM. Her funeral service will begin at 1:30 PM on Friday at the funeral home. Her burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park. Those who wish may contribute to the Alzheimer's Association at alz.org, and feel free to express your condolences below as well.
