Mary Nettie DeVincent, age 89, a resident of Pasadena for 58 years, died on January 16, 2016 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a lengthy illness.
She was born on May 8, 1926, in Baltimore, to the late Mary and Thomas E. Nelson. After graduating from high school, she became a homemaker and mom, raising four children. She went on to work at Hutzler's Southdale and at Sandusky's Riviera Bowl, each for about 10 years. She loved to go dancing with her husband, as they were both great dancers, and, of course, loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Along with her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty nine and a half years: Anthony DeVincent, Sr., her sister Grace Ringler, and her brother Earl Nelson.
She is survived by her three daughters: Christine Dean, of Belcamp, MD, Deborah Stecker, of Pasadena, and Gail Thomas, of Glen Burnie; her son Anthony DeVincent, Jr.; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Family invites friends to visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Tuesday from 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday in St. Jane Frances Church, with Father Joe O'Meara officiating. Her entombment will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Park. Those who wish may contribute to the charity of your choice, and feel free to express your condolences here as well.

On behalf of my mother, Mrs. Ruth Allen, we send our sincere condolences on the loss of your sweet mother. Ms. Mary and Mom were roommates for a short time, but I know they truly respected and enjoyed each other. May God continue to cover and bless you during this painful time. Our prayers are with the family.

While sad for your loss, I am so aware with you that Aunt Mary now is praying in the heavenly kingdom with the angels. I loved her for her gentle spirit and remember many hours of taking with her around mom's or her kitchen table. Keep it up, AUNT Mary, there are plenty angels to listen there.
