Helen Gauer Clifton, age 86, a resident of Pasadena for 15 years, and formerly of St. Augustine, Florida, died on January 11, 2016 after a brief illness.
She was born on August 10, 1929, in Gilford, Connecticut, to the late Helen and Ernest Gauer. After high school, she continued her education at the University of Connecticut for two years, before enlisting in the US Air Force, serving from 1950 to 1952. She worked as a homemaker and mother, and also as a substitute teacher for the Anne Arundel County Schools. A member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, she enjoyed camping during her free time.
Helen is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years: Harry P. Clifton, Jr.; her daughter Cheryl Ragolio and her husband Mike, of Pasadena; her son Jeff Clifton and his wife Debbie, of Seven Hills, Pennsylvania; three grandchildren: Angela Shreves and Jason Ragolio, both of Pasadena, and Lauren Clifton, of Baltimore; and five great grandchildren.
