Mary LaRue (Helm) Schmidt, 93 of Pasadena, Maryland died on December 17,2015. LaRue was married to John P. Schmidt, the love of her life. She cared for John suffering with health issues for many years until his death. She is survived by her loving daughter Susan Schmidt and Grand Daughter Kristine. Her Son John P. (Jack) Schmidt predeceased her. She is also survived by her loving God Daughter Sharon Sturm, niece Patricia Williams, and nephew Vernon Helm, Jr., all of Pasadena, MD. Her only Brother, Vernon Helm, Sr. died in 1985.
LaRue enjoyed her long life and was blessed with good health until her final months. She was born in Baltimore to Mary Ethel (Harrow) Helm and LeRoy Munroe Helm. LaRue moved to Deltaville Virginia with her family as a young girl, and was very proud of her heritage in Virginia. She loved visiting her friends and family in Deltaville; having frequent contacts and sharing memories brought joy to her.
LaRue loved the ocean and collecting sea shells in Florida and Ocean City, Maryland with her husband John. Larue also enjoyed her family and the gatherings at the home of her God Daughter Sharon. LaRue's Great Nieces, Kaitlynn and Emilee Schafer brought much pleasure to her as she often shared her personal treasures with them.
Family invites friends to visit on Monday from 11 to 1 PM at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena. Her funeral will begin on Monday at 1PM, followed by her burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, alongside her husband John.
