After graduating from Glen Burnie High School, she went on to work for the Cavalier Company and then for the Hutzler's Department Store. She enjoyed bowling, crochet, cross stitch, embroidery, and making her own clothing. Known to be a math wiz, she was a very social person who loved telling jokes and being the center of attention.
Along with her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years: Louis W. Joran; two brothers: James and Robert; and three sisters: Viola, Josephine, and Eva.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Prioreschi; her sister Tennie Gribbon; and her brother Harry Piereman; five grandchildren: Mark J. Harvey, Paula J. Spangler, Louis E. Prioreschi, Anita M. Etheridge, and Ruthanne R. Murdoch; nine great grandchildren and one on the way, and many nieces and nephews.
Family requests friends visit on Thursday at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Her funeral service will begin on Friday at 11 AM, with her burial to follow in Loudon Park Cemetery. Feel free to express your condolences here as well.
