Gideon George Jaeger, age 91, a resident of Goldsboro, MD for 10 months, and previously of Pasadena, passed away on June 2, 2015 at his son's home in Goldsboro after a lengthy illness.
Born on November 25, 1923, in Sebring, Florida, to the late Leona Lillian and Gideon August Jaeger, he attended Sebring High School before entering the US Navy, serving aboard the USS Boxwood, stationed in Adak, Alaska, from 1943 until 1946. After the service, he worked for Westinghouse as a machine repairman for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion, and also a Moose Lodge Member of Sebring, Florida. Gideon enjoyed golf, hunting, fishing, and camping.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 39 years: Virginia A. Jaeger; his son Gideon George Jaeger, Jr; and his brother Robert Leon Jaeger.
Gideon is survived by his two sons: Clifford Jaeger, and Brett Jaeger and his wife Cathy, all of Goldsboro; three granddaughters: Lisa Russo, of Queen Anne, Jeanine Cook, of Easton, and Erica Harrison, of Denton; and six great grandchildren: Levi and Natalie Harrison, of Denton, Taylor and Brandon Cook, of Easton, and Nick and Mia Russo, of Queen Anne.
The family invites friends to visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Saturday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM.
