Carol M. Vitek, 77, a resident of Glen Burnie for 50 years, passed on November 17, 2014 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a five month illness with cancer.
She was born on August 26, 1937, in Fayette County, PA, to the late Violet and Walter Silbaugh. After attending Patterson High School, she went on to Towson State College, graduating in 1957. She worked as a political aide to Senator John Leopold and as a paralegal for Tom Granger. A member of Silversands Improvement Association, she enjoyed painting and gardening.
Along with her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her husband of 34 years: Edmund J. Vitek.
She is survived by her two daughters: Jacqueline A. Lewandowski, of Spring Hill, Florida, and Patricia L. Skews, of Upper Marlboro; her two sisters: Sandra Cox, of Joppatown, and Sharon Vick, of Baltimore; her grandson Patrick Drake, of San Padre, California; two granddaughters: Heather Richardson, of Severn, and Deanna Hogard, of Glen Burnie; and three great grandchildren.
Family invites friends to a memorial gathering on Saturday from 1 to 3 PM at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena.
