Marian Frances Kopec passed away on Tuesday April 1, 2014, at her home in Riviera Beach. She was born on September 22, 1922, to Andrew and Theresa Walinski. Her sole sibling, Carl Walinski, preceded her in death. Mrs. Kopec moved to Riviera Beach with her late husband, Edward F. Kopec over sixty years ago. At the time of her passing she was 91.
A longtime member of St. Jane Frances Church, Mrs. Kopec was active in The Women’s Sodality and enjoyed volunteering to feed the homeless at Our Daily Bread in Baltimore. She also worked for a time in the cafeteria at St. Jane Frances School where her three daughters attended. Likewise, she was known for setting up at Brumwell’s Flea Market and enjoyed going to yard sales. Mrs. Kopec also loved gardening, bus trips, and spending time with friends.
Confined to her house for the past nine months Mrs. Kopec succumbed to complications of congested heart failure. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 7 until 9 PM at George J. Gonce Funeral Home P.A. followed by a Mass on Friday at St. Jane Frances at 11 AM. Mrs. Kopec is survived by her three daughters: Bonnie Thomas of Edgewater Maryland, Joann Walsh of Asheville North Carolina, and Marie Lovelace of Pasadena Maryland; along with four grandchildren: Denise Horsman, Krista Willson, and Alex and Aaron Lovelace. Mrs. Kopec was also blessed with two great-grandchildren Levi and Ella Rose Willson.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Mrs. Kopec’s memory to the Hospice of the Chesapeake or to St. Jane Frances Church. You may also express your condolences here as well.

The passing of Ms Marian has sadden me in so many ways. Knowing the friendship with my mom, Jenny Daley and Ms Marian, and other family members still remain in my heart.. family and community and St. Jane's were such and huge part of our combined lives. Ms Marian, to me, was an exceptionally sweet, kind and compassionate woman. My parents and myself had and have beautiful memories of her. But to me, she will remain a gentle reminder of my own mother. Please share my affection and my understanding of your lose and Heaven's gain with the girls and the rest of the family.
