Dorothy A. Stern, age 90, a resident of Riviera Beach for 71 years, passed away on June 28, 2013 in York, Pennsylvania.
She was born on August 4, 1922, in Jennerstown, PA to the late Annie Walker. After high school, she went to work as a seamstress, and enjoyed crocheting, puzzles, Chinese checkers, collecting salt and pepper shakers, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Along with her mom, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years: Cloyd R. Stern; her brothers John and Howard Trexel; her sister Emily Kalaha; granddaughter Patricia Heck, and son in law Warren Porter, Sr.
Dorothy is survived by her son Frederick Stern and his wife Doreen, of Glen Burnie; her two daughters: Charlotte Porter, of Glen Burnie, and Bonnie Keil and her husband Wayne of Pasadena; two sisters: Lois Riley of Hyde Park, PA, and Carol Wright of Somerset, PA; seven grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, and one great great granddaughter, along with nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. Her funeral service will commence at 10 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Feel free to express your condolences here as well.
