Marie Wallis, age 92, a resident of Glen Burnie for 55 years, and previously of Earleigh Heights, died on June 21, 2013 at Genesis Severna Park Center after a brief illness.
Born on June 5, 1921, in Elvaton, to the late Mary and Charles Katlic, she worked as a Grandmom in the Ruth Parker Eason School for children with special needs. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, (was famous for her pound cake), going out to eat, loud music, especially Little Richard and Elvis, and laughing with her family and friends.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 26 years: Lester George Wallis; and two sisters: Elizabeth Welch and Helen Vermillion.
She is survived by her brother Charles Katlic; her sister Evelyn Lam; her brother James Katlic; and her sister Margie Lucas; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Family requests friends visit on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Dr, Pasadena. The procession will leave the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:15 AM to go to St. John the Evangelist Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM, with Father James Proffitt officiating.
