Frank William Hild, 89, a resident of Glen Burnie for many years, died at Baltimore Washington Medical Center on December 22, 2012 after a 15 month illness.
Born on May 14, 1923, in Baltimore, to the late Clara and Francis Hild, he worked as a truck driver for more than 30 years. He enjoyed bowling, tinkering with electronics, flea markets, fixing cars, and spending time with his family.
He is predeceased by his former wife of 12 years, Evonne Faulstich, and his wife of 25 years, Margaret Nagel; his stepdaughter Patsy Boswell, and two sisters: Ida Hoddinott and Elizabeth Weisner.
He is survived by his daughter Beverlyann Wick and her husband Kenneth; son Sheldon Hild and his wife Kathy; stepdaughter Mary Mace; stepson Christian Nagle and his wife Marge; brother Earl Hild; two sisters: Eleanor Searle and Betty Selby; six grandchildren, seven step grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and eight step great grandchildren.
The family requests friends visit on Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena. The funeral service will take place on Friday at 10 AM in St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 308 Oak Manor Drive, Glen Burnie. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive United Methodist Cemetery. My condolences to the family and all those who knew "Porch Pop". While I only knew him for a decade or two of his long life, I will miss him, if not for my own reasons, but also because of the sadness reflected in my children's eyes. Safe journey, Mr. Hild.
