Shirley Mary Herzberger, “Sissy” age 85, a resident of Orchard Beach and previously South Baltimore, passed away on November 21, 2018.
She was born on August 30, 1933, in Baltimore, to the late Caroline A. (nee Lynch) and Clarence V. Jackson. She worked for many years as an accountant/bookkeeper for the Commercial Credit Company and later Control Data Corporation. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching the Baltimore Ravens and was a lifelong Orioles fan. She was a member of the American Legion Post 277 Auxiliary, VFW Post 2462 Auxiliary and former Senior Recorder for the Loyal Order of the Moose. She loved spending time on the water and playing shuffleboard with friends.
Along with her parents, Shirley is preceded in death by her three brothers: Clarence “Jack” M. Jackson, Henry P. Jackson and Charles “Hook” Jackson Sr.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John F. Herzberger, and her sister, Wilma “Babe” Hughes of Brooklyn. She is also survived by three children: sons John H. Herzberger, Sr. and his wife Gaetana, of Forest Hill, Robert C. Herzberger and his wife Dawn of Baltimore, and her daughter Darlene J. Price of Orchard Beach; 7 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
Shirley was well loved and will be missed by all. Family requests friends visit the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Monday, November 26, 2018 for visitation from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Her funeral service will be at the funeral home from 1:00 to 1:30PM, with Deacon Tom Yannuzzi officiating. Interment immediately following at Glen Haven Memorial Park on Ritchie Hwy in Glen Burnie.
