Jo Ann C. Snyder, age 71, a resident of Pasadena for 37 years, passed at her home on November 18, 2014 after an eleven month illness.
She was born on September 6, 1943, in Baltimore; to the late Anita Elizabeth and Charles Leo Gallion. After attending St. Paul's Business School, she went on to marry and become a professional Air Force wife of 22 years; mother, grandmother, great grandmother, homemaker, and professional "owie healer". A long time member of St. Jane Frances Church, she served as Vice President of the Ladies Sodality. She was also a member of the Anne Arundel County Bee Keepers Association. She enjoyed gardening, porcelain doll making, custom cake designing, shopping, having lunch with friends, playing bingo, bowling, birdwatching and feeding, camping, cooking, going to church, and, of course, taking care of her family.
Jo Ann is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years: Oliver H. Snyder, III; her three sons: Oliver H. Snyder, IV, of Pasadena, Charles E. Snyder, of Mt. Home, Idaho, and Phillip J. Snyder, of Pasadena; her daughter Toni J. Carter, of Glen Burnie; her two sisters: Anita "Cook" Kuhn, of Glen Burnie, and Louise M. Medicus, of Pasadena; her brother Charles L. Gallion, of Lake Ridge, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Family invites friends to visit at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. The procession will leave the funeral home on Tuesday at 9:30 AM to go to a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated in St. Jane Frances Church at 10 AM, with Monsignor Carl Cummings officiating.
