Marie Annette Burns, age 78, a resident of Pasadena for 43 years, and previously of Baltimore, died on June 26, 2013 at her home after a brief illness.
She was born on May 28, 1935, in Baltimore, to the late Anastasia and Leo Dowgiallo. After high school, she worked for the MVA, and then went on to work as an insurance adjuster for State Farm Insurance Company for 30 years. A member of the Brooklyn Girls, she enjoyed the outdoors, boating, travelling, cooking, eating steamed crabs, bird watching in her later years, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter Cindy Rivers; her son Ken Burns and his wife Lori; her grandchildren Keith and Melanie Rivers; two brothers: Tony and Tom Dowgiallo; her sister Helen Boswell; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Family requests friends visit on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Dr, Pasadena. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM in St. Jane Frances Church, with interment to follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Feel free to express your condolences here as well.
