John Howard Bunn, age 67, a resident of Orchard Beach for 42 years, died on November 21, 2012, at his home after battling cancer for three years.
He was born on July 18, 1945, in Baltimore, to the late Theresa and Gerald Bunn. After attending Baltimore Polytech Institute, graduating in 1963, he entered work at the US Coast Guard Yard as an apprentice, then as an electrician, retiring in 2006. Along with the USCGY retirees association, he belonged to the Pasadena Sportfishing Club, and enjoyed fishing, gardening, photography, and tinkering; and as a man of God, enjoyed his church and spending time with his family.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his nephew Gerry Bunn, his cousin Bob Bonner, and his sister in law “Chotsie” Bunn.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years: Barbara Bunn; four sons: Patrick Bunn and his wife Julie, of Gambrills, John D. Bunn and his wife Jessica, Samuel Bunn and his wife Mary, and Matthew Bunn, all of Pasadena; three daughters: Tricia Lascola and her husband Joseph, of Severna Park, Rachel Daley and her husband Lawrence, and Sarah Sammer and her husband Jacob, all of Pasadena; his brother and sister Gerald William Bunn and Suzanne Bunn; eighteen grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena, on Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. The funeral service will begin at 11 AM on Tuesday, with burial to follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
