Edward Louis Prieber, age 80, a resident of Pasadena for 72 years, died on February 9, 2012 at his home after suffering from cancer.
He was born on August 17, 1931, in Baltimore, to the late Marie Miller Fulkoski. After graduating from Glen Burnie High School, he joined the US Navy, serving from 1951 to 1956. He then served in the Anne Arundel County Police Department, retiring as a Lieutenant after 29 years. He belonged to the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, and was a past commodore of the Marley Boat Club. He loved the water, boating, was a big Orioles and Ravens fan, and enjoyed partying with his family and friends.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years: Edith Peggy Prieber; three daughters: Debbie Helmick and her husband Bruce, Lynn Redding and her husband Jim, Pat Macola and her husband Charlie; six grandchildren who he adored: Troy and Trevor Stanley, Todd and Nick Redding, Charlie and Stacey Macola; and six great grandchildren: Adrian and Jonas Stanley, Parker Mangum and Riley Redding, Kayla Woodley and Ava Macola.
Family requests friends visit on Saturday, February 11, 2012 from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Gregory J. Gonce Funeral Home, PA, 169 Riviera Drive, Pasadena. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 7:30 PM during the evening visitation. Those who wish may contribute to the Hospice of the Chesapeake, and you may also express your condolences here.
