Posted by: Rick Madsen Mon May 30, 2016 | We have lost a Legend!!
I was informed earlier today of the passing of my friend and Chicago icon, Jack Schaller. Jack was 92+ and lived a long and rewarding life. He leaves a wonderful loving family and many friends and acquaintances. He served our country proudly and with distinction in WWII. He was the proprietor of the family business (Schaller's Pump) for many years. No wonder why they have been in business since 1881 which is only 135 years. He had many a story of the baseball people and others that patronized the "Pump". Jack was a huge Sox fan and his pinnacle moment was the 2005 World Series Championship. Mike Martin and I attended several Sox games with him over the years. He was like a rock star as everyone knew him and respected him. Unfortunately they don't make people like him anymore. May God bless Jackson Schaller. Congratulations on a life well lived and thanks for enriching our lives. Your friend, Rick Madsen |
