Mary Anne “Carmel” (nee Flavin) O’Malley, Native of Youghal, County Cork, Ireland.  Beloved wife of the late John “London Jack” O’Malley.  Devoted mother of Mary Geraldine (the late John) Sayre, Patrick, Noreen (Tommy) Lally, Eileen (the late “Mixie”) McAndrew.  Dearest daughter of the late Mary (nee Flavin) and the late Richard Flavin. Dear grandmother of John (Jean), Michael and Philip Leodoro. Loving sister of Rita (the late Terry) Cahill of England and the late Teresa (the late Derry) McCarthy of Ireland.  Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Cherished cousin of Theresa Griffin Zmudka. Lifelong friend of Eileen Keane and the Solarski family. Longtime Canaryville resident. Retired employee of the City of Chicago.  Carmel’s work ethic, strong faith and pride in her Irish heritage were an example to all of us.  The family wishes to thank the staff at Holy Family Villa for their kindness and gentle care provided to our Mom.  Funeral services Wednesday January 14, 2015, 9:00 a.m. from the Thomas McInerney’s Sons funeral home, 4635 South Wallace Street, Chicago, IL, to St. Gabriel Church.  Mass of the Resurrection 10:00 a.m. Visitation Tuesday, January 13, 2015, from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  Interment St. Mary Cemetery - Evergreen Park, IL.
