Posted by: Andreana Maietta Popovich Tue July 19, 2016 | Dear Mike and Family,
We are so heartbroken that our beloved Peppy has passed away. He was kind, caring and loving and had a such a great sense of humor. He loved his family near and far and was always sending care packages of Italian goodies to the family in San Jose. I also have so many great memories of him when we were kids in Italy. Whenever we spoke on the phone he would always mention how proud he was of Melissa and Francisca and that he loved them dearly. I know that he is in heaven with his parents and our Nonna and Nonno and our uncle Pasquale. I hope that the wonderful memories of Peppy give you all strength during these difficult days ahead. With sincere Sympathy and love, Andreana & Family |

Posted by: Elaine Lambert Wed July 20, 2016 | I wanted to express heartfelt condolences to the family. There's such a sense of helplessness when a loved one dies. I'd like to share some scriptural thoughts that really helped me. Prayer is so valuable at this time, but it's not that prayer simply makes us feel better. 2 Cor. 4:7 says that God can give us, "...power beyond what is normal", to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry or that we forget, but it means we recover. The reason we recover is because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28, "...all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out".
Jesus was referring to the resurrection; this is our hope that helps us recover and gives us power to go on. Thinking deeply on this promise can powerfully affect our emotions and give us peace. 2 Cor. 1:3 describes our Creator as, "...the God of all comfort". One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May God (Ps. 83:18) grant you peace and comfort now during this time of sorrow. |
Posted by: Theresa Rao Wed July 20, 2016 | Michael & Felicia, we are thinking of you and the entire Maietta family during this very sad time. Peppy was a dear and long-time friend to many. He was like a big brother to all of the "village" kids and was always so very generous and giving to all of us. We have shared so many fun times over the years with all of the weddings, parties, softball games/tournaments and our endless memories down the Club. We remember these times now with laughter and tears but we will never, ever forget any of them because of Peppy's daily postings on FACEBOOK!! Peppy's photographs showed the enormity of his love and happiness for those he treasured and we feel honored to have been part of his life. Rest in Peace big guy . . .I'm sure our #19 can't wait to see you again . . .
Love, Theresa & Rao |
Posted by: Martin Wed July 20, 2016 | My deepest condolences to the family. I was sorry to learn about the passing of Peppy. Death is very painful. Prayer to God can bring some comfort to you. Psalm 147:3 tells us that God heals the broken-hearted; his word gives us hope Act24:15. Cherish all the wonderful memories you've made together. My thoughts are with you and the family. |
