Perry, William “Bill” of Raymond, NH, age 71, passed on December 14th from complications from Alzheimer's Disease. Son of the later Walter and Mary (King) Perry. He grew up in Malden with his three siblings. Bill was a gifted athlete who received numerous accolades for football, hockey and baseball at Malden High School.  He shared his gifts of athletics, sportsmanship and team work with countless young people as a storied hockey and baseball coach.  He had a profound and memorable effect on everyone he met with his ability to tell a story, brag about his children and make people laugh.  His generosity and love had no limits. He was a dedicated husband to his wife of 47 years, Sandra Perry and father to their 5 children and dog.

Bill worked and retired from General Electric in 2011.  He was an avid and accomplished golfer who occasionally marshaled PGA events and was a member Bradford Golf Course.  He met (or accosted) many professional players on the tour and collected autographs and souvenirs from the many tournaments he participated in.  Bill's special group of friends who traveled to Myrtle Beach and Town and Country for their annual golf tournaments affectionately call him 'Penguin'.

During his short retirement he and Sandy traveled across the United States including a trip to Alaska before his Alzheimers prevented them from further travel.  His final months were spent in Clipper Harbor Nursing Facility.  He passed in the company and care of his family.  We take comfort in that he is no longer suffering and will surely make a stop in Chicopee Falls on his way to heaven.

Bill is survived by his wife, Sandra (Schiavo) Perry of Raymond, NH, daughters Racheal Perry and boyfriend Charlie McIntyre of San Francisco, CA, Jennifer Strong and husband David of Londonderry, NH, Debra Perry of Stoneham, MA and sons Matthew Perry and wife Kristin of Billerica, MA and Walter Perry and wife Jill of Everett, MA.  Grandchildren Nicholas, Joseph and Kathryn Strong and Braiden and Garron Perry and puppy Daisy.

Funeral from Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main Street, Everett on Tuesday, December 20 at10:30. A Prayer Service will be held in Funeral Home at 11:00. Visiting hours on Monday, December 19 from 4 to 8 pm.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Interment will be private.

Our family would like to thank the nurses and attendants at Clipper Harbor and the Hospice Foundation for their support and care of Bill during his final days.

Dad was a devoted father and husband and friend to many.  He will be missed.

Loved Uncle Bill so much. Never got tired of his stories and the way he told them. It didn't matter if he shared his childhood stories for the 100th time, they were still funny. He was a dear man and 'with the fury of a thousand jungle beasts' he will be missed. Thinking of Sandy and my cousins and their families; May your faith and wonderful memories of him carry you through this difficult time.

Bill was a funny guy and always had a story. I will never look at a penguin or see a golf tournament on TV without thinking of Bill. I always got a kick out of him calling my grandnephews "ham and eggers". RIP Bill, you were one of the good guys.

Dear Sandy and Family

My sympathy is extended to you and your family. Bill kept us entertained with his stories (especially the golf ones) whenever we would be at a gathering at Matt and Kristin's house.

So sorry for your loss
