Anthony J. DeBenedetto, 76, of Morrisville Vermont passed away on January 7, 2016, after a long illness. He was born in East Boston, MA to Agostino and Mary DeBenedetto.

Tony loved tap dancing and he was a professional dancer for many years. He won a Boston based talent show, Community Auditions.

In 1962, he was drafted by the U.S. Army. Upon completion of basic and advanced training, he was stationed in Germany as a personnel management specialist. Following his discharge in 1964, he attended Bentley College and graduated with a degree in accounting and worked as a Controller/HR Manager for many years.

He was the loving husband of the late Joan (Arnold) DeBenedetto.  He and his wife enjoyed many years together dancing, and cooking and having as much fun as possible.

Tony retired in 2004, he and Joan moved from their home in Reading, MA where they lived for 34 years to Morrisville to be closer to their Vermont family.

Tony found retirement boring, and began working part-time in the courtesy booth at the Price Chopper supermarket in Morrisville. He made many lasting friendships with his associates and the store guests.

He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Morrisville. Tony looked forward to attending Sunday Mass, and especially the coffee hour with his fellow parishioners.

Tony is survived by his daughter Denise Morton, her husband Troy and his grandson Calvin of Waterbury Center, Vermont.  A sister Jo (Anna) Caprio of Billerica, MA, two brothers Gerald DeBenedetto and his wife Margie of Everett MA and Albert DeBenedetto and his wife Sandra of Danville N.H., his brother-in-law, Edward Arnold of Salem, NH and his late sister-in-law, Shirley.  Tony also has many nieces and nephews.

My deepest sympathy to his entire family. I was with Anna, Gerald and Albert when he was
born. Anna and are have been friends for 84 years and I was close to her and her brothers.
I know Anthony's death is a blow to all. I, too, feel a great loss. God bless you all.
