Cocuzzo, Daniel A. Age 97, a longtime resident of Everett, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 25th surrounded by his loving family. Daniel was born on June 12, 1919 in Brighton, MA to immigrant parents, Giuseppe and Giovanna Cocuzzo.  He attended Brighton High School. In 1940, Daniel enlisted in the United States Army.  During World War II, he served as a 1st Lieutenant in the 8th Air Force as a Bombardier and Navigator on B-24’s in the European Theatre. He was stationed in England and completed 31 missions including the D-Day Invasion. As a result of his service, he was awarded the Silver Star with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, and a Purple Heart.  Upon returning home, he attended Northeastern University graduating Summa Cum Laude with Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering.  After graduation, he began his 35 year career as a Civil Engineer for the City of Boston, eventually, assuming the position of the Principal Engineer for the Parks and Recreation Department.

Daniel loved watching his grandchildren participating in various sports. He was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan. He was a longtime parishioner of Immaculate Conception Parish in Everett, and a member of the Carondelet Fathers Club of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston.
Beloved husband of late Alice M. (Desmond)Cocuzzo , Devoted Father of Ellen( Cocuzzo) Ciarlone and her husband Donald of Billerica, Jean Cocuzzo and her husband, Harvey Petersiel of Hamilton, Ann Cocuzzo of Everett, and Michael Cocuzzo and his partner, Cathy Cotter of North Andover. Loving Grandfather of Daniel Cocuzzo , Lisa Ciarlone, Terri Walsh, Kristin Cocuzzo, Sarah Petersiel, Michael Cocuzzo and Emilee Cocuzzo and Great Grandfather of David Walsh, Maxx and Ayla Terrazzano, Damien and Dominic Cotter. He is predeceased by his five siblings, Gerry Cocuzzo, Larry Cocuzzo, Josie (Cocuzzo) Giodarno, Daniel Cocuzzo and Angelina (Cocuzzo) Tocci. He is also survived by many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral from the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main St, Everett, Wednesday, November 30 at 10 AM.  Funeral Mass in the Immaculate Conception Church, Everett at 11 AM.  Relatives and friends kindly invited. Visiting hour on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM.  Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Daniel’s memory to the charity of your choice. Complimentary valet parking will be available during Tuesday evening.
