Camerario, who is survived by his companion, and dear family friend, Ron Orlandino. Loving brother of the late Mary Mastrocola, Louis and Alfred Camerario. He is survived by his 5 cherished grandchildren, Bennie, and his wife Kellie, Jenna and her husband Gerard, Kyle, Jason and Evan, as well as 3 great grandchildren, Maggie, Emilie, and Jordan, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Salvatore Rocco & Sons Funeral Home, 331 Main St., EVERETT on Wednesday, July 15 at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in St. Anthony's Church, Everett at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday only, 4-8 PM. Complimentary valet parking at Main St. entrance. Donations, in James' memory, may be made to Mystic Valley Elder Services, or Hallmark Hospice. Interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. He served on board the U.S.S. Hancock (CV-19) in the biggest sea battle and Kamikaze survivor of World War II, now a part of the Smithsonian Institution.  He was the recipient of 6 bronze stars including the Asiatic-Pacific Area Campaign Medal, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, American Area Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, World War II Victory Medal, Navy Unit Commendation Ribbon for outstanding heroism, Philippine Republic Presidential Unit Citation Badge, and Philippine Liberation Medal.  He was a member of the Imperial Domain of Golden Dragon, August Ruler of 180 Meridian, King Neptune’s Court, Ruler of Artic Circle, Negotiating Committee of the Oil, Chemical & Atomic Workers Union, Boston Carmens Union – Local 589, MBTA Pensioners Club, and the sole surviving charter member of the Schiavo Club Associates.  Upon honorable discharge from the service, James worked for Eastern Gas and Fuel Associates, the United States Postal Service as well as the MBTA where he had since retired.  James had a long and distinguished political career serving the City of Everett spanning over 70 years.  He  chaired many Boards in Everett City Government including Chairman of the Board of Appeals, Chairman of the Everett Registrars of Voters just to name a few, and more recently as Commissioner of the Everett Housing Authority.  At the age of 94, he refused to retire because of his desire to still “help” people.  In his younger years, James was an avid bowler and golfer.  In his later years, he enjoyed playing cards at the Everett Armory as well as Thursday nights with family and friends, and taking the bus to Mohegan Sun and playing Jacks or Better slot machine. The Camerario name is perpetuated throughout the City of Everett at the World War II Memorial at Everett Stadium, the Senior Community Room, the Everett Housing Authority, and the Camerario Family plaque at the corner of Main and Parlin Streets.
